About

Ami Falk is a San Francisco-based jazz trumpeter whose musical journey began on upright bass. Following an injury, he learned to play trumpet backwards under the mentorship of jazz legend John D’earth, developing a distinctive approach shaped by his background as a bassist.

Before moving to the Bay Area, Ami performed at jazz venues across the East Coast, including An die Musik Live!, Blues Alley, and the Kennedy Center. As a member of the Charlottesville Jazz All-Stars, he has also opened for acclaimed vocalist Veronica Swift.

His playing is rooted in a rhythmic, melodic approach to improvisation, drawing on both the classic jazz tradition and contemporary voices.
